Hammond Police are investigating an armed robbery at a phone shop

Hammond, LA – On May 6, 2022, at approximately 10:00 a.m., the Hammond Police Department responded to the AT&T store, located at 2807 West Thomas Street, in reference to an armed robbery.

Upon arrival, HPD officers learned that an unknown black man – wearing a dark hooded jacket, dark pants, face masks and gloves – entered the business armed with a gun and tells an employee and a customer to move to the back of the business. The suspect then asked the employee to open a secure safe with numerous Apple and Samsung products and fill a bag with the devices. The suspect exited the business through a side door and ran into the Lowe’s parking lot. It is believed the suspect got into a vehicle that was parked at Lowe’s and drove on Highway 190 West. The suspect’s vehicle appears to be a black Chevrolet Avalanche.
