HPD on the hunt for a thief in an Orlando Street cell phone store

The man took cash from cash registers at the store and forcibly grabbed a customer’s purse, police said.

HOUSTON — The Houston Police Department’s Robbery Division is seeking guidance in the case of a man charged with aggravated robbery with a deadly weapon.

Authorities released video of the July 15 crime on Friday, which happened around 11:20 a.m.

The suspect entered a mobile phone store in the Orlando Block 3400in northeast Houston, where he approached employees and pointed a gun, demanding money.

“The suspect walked around the counter, removed the cash, then forcibly grabbed a customer’s purse. The suspect then fled in an unknown direction,” police said.

Police said the suspect was a black male, between the ages of 20 and 30. He was about 5 feet 7 inches tall and weighed about 190 pounds. He has brown eyes and was wearing a green shirt, black pants, and a black backpack.
